Good Day As everyone is aware November 24th 2003 was button day, and the GM St. Catharines work force said, “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”. Such a little piece of tin says so much. On the surface there are the words “I say no to extension of shift overtime”. The wearing of the buttons says so much more. It says I am tired of GM constantly creating a stressful environment with continual threats of layoffs. It says My friends have suffered enough and with so much work and overtime they should all be employed. It says I’m tired of the disrespect GM management has shown us over the years with total disregard for our mental health. It says that its time for GM management to develop a conscience and show compassion for the people who made GM great. It says,” ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”. A special thanks goes out to our leadership who have supported the members both in their comforting words and in their unselfish tireless actions. Also a very special thanks to John Henderson who organized those of us on the outside. A big thanks to the guys who gave their time to pass out buttons at the gates and talk to their brothers and sisters. Most of all we want to show our greatest appreciation to our friends on the inside. You have been keeping us informed. You have joined our group and are offering your help. You have been keeping a vigilant watch over any indiscretions. You have sat down on more than one occasion to protest management’s inability to manage. And today you have placed a small piece of tin on your chest and are saying openly and loudly,” ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”. Kindest Regards from us, your friends. | ||||||
